Just a Girl: Embracing Joy, Beauty, and Childlike Faith
Life can feel heavy sometimes. At 29, I’ve felt the pressure to be “serious,” “adult,” “put together” in every area of life. But somewhere in that pressure, I realized something simple and beautiful: I’m just a girl.
I love hair. I love beauty. I love curating my style, enjoying pretty things, and embracing the small joys that make life feel alive. And admitting that — fully, unapologetically — has been one of the most freeing parts of my journey.
In this reflection, I want to share what it looks like to embrace the things that bring you joy, why childlike faith matters, and how living authentically can quietly influence the people around you.
———————————————————————
I’m just a girl who loves hair.
I’m just a girl who loves beauty.
I’m just a girl who loves feeling, looking, and giving off pretty vibes.
I’m just a girl who likes living in pretty things.
I’m just a girl.
And yes, I wrestle with that. Because at 29, society tells me I should be a “woman” in all the ways — serious, measured, precise. But honestly? I’m just a girl.
When I say that, I hear it differently now: have childlike faith (Matthew 18:3). And isn’t this exactly what Faith to Flawless is about? Being childlike brings wonder, delight, and a kind of mystique that rigid adulthood often robs us of. Life gets simpler when I just admit it: I like doing my hair.
I… love doing my hair.
I love sectioning it out, curling it, coloring it. I love the ending product, the way it blows in the wind, the first thing people notice before they get to meet me. I love that.
I love my face being beat — a lash, a contour, a blush, a bright under-eye. I love the glam, the lip, the subtle blinder, the curated details that make me feel intentional in every way. I eat it up.
I love a curated fit — an outfit that’s intentional, where everything has a spot, a reason, a style. And yes, I can style sweatpants and old clothes too — and I have, for many years.
And honestly, I’m tired of shrinking that part of me because others think it’s vain. It’s not.
Being pretty, taking care of myself, enjoying beauty — it’s not masking anything. It’s not harming anyone. Beauty is not harmful. And that’s the point I really want to make: it’s okay to just like feeling pretty.
I love my hair. I love my face. I love smelling pretty. I love living in pretty things. And pretty… is okay.
Reflection
When we allow ourselves to embrace the small, joyful things — the things that bring delight to our hearts — we are living authentically. Being “just a girl” doesn’t make us less. It reminds us that joy, wonder, and childlike faith are meant to be lived out daily.
So today, give yourself permission to love what you love. To enjoy the things that make your heart happy. And in doing so, you are leading by example, quietly showing others that it’s okay to live fully and freely.
With that being said…
With that being said, Flawless Halo is entering a new chapter—one that feels lighter, more honest, and more aligned with who I am and who we are becoming together.
Flawless Halo was never just about hair. It was always about confidence, identity, and the permission to show up as a woman who loves beauty while walking boldly in faith. As I’ve grown, healed, become a mother, and returned to a more childlike trust in God, the brand has followed suit.
Our mission is simple:
